What is
  Occupational
  Medicine?

Occupational Medicine is a field of medicine that specializes in the health and well being of people in the workforce. Health care professionals in this field make it their job to educate people on creating and maintaining a healthy work environment, as well as to administer care to those who are injured on the job.
Because such a large part of our lives are spent in a work environment, Occupational Medicine is an important portion of the health care industry.

What is
  Urgent Care?

The first urgent care centers began to pop up across the US in the 70s. The first urgent care centers, as well as many centers that are open today, were created to address a need for people to obtain health care without an appointment and without the cost of an emergency room visit. You may know that it takes significant time to get in to see your family doctor, and emergency room visits are not exactly friendly on your wallet.

At an urgent care center, an appointment is not a requirement to be seen. You can recieve the qualified health care that you need today and most insurance plans are accepted by urgent care facilities. Health care professionals at urgent care facilities are able to provide their services to patients who need to be seen, but either do not have a family doctor or they cannot get an appointment to see their family physician.

An urgent care facility is equipped to handle minor illnesses and injuries such as:

  • Lacerations, deep cuts or wounds that may require stitches.
  • Sprains, strains or deep bruises.
  • Mild to moderate asthma attacks.
  • Ear infections.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Upper respiratory infections.
  • Coughs and congestion.
  • Upset stomach.
  • Sore throat.
  • Insect bites
  • Rashes
  • Cold or Flu symptoms
  • Eye Abrasions
