  The current world economic picture is truly daunting. As our federal and state governments grapple with the problem, wisely or unwisely, we must do our part to protect our own businesses. As the economy contracts and our customers cut back on the services we all provide for them, we must appropriately react to trim unnecessary expenses and marginally profitable services.

Unfortunately, cutbacks for many companies often require hiring freezes and employee layoffs as a last resort. We, at Reliance, have noted a significant drop in new hires sent for pre-employment physicals and drug screens and fully understand the choices employers are making.

We want to remind employers that the flip side to these tough times is that we now have the luxury of a larger pool of quality employees looking for work. Reliance is always ready to evaluate any new employees with drug testing, physical exams and WorkSteps evaluations to ensure that you get the best employee available for every job.
